Overview
DCG is looking for a full time Estimator based in Surrey , BC . This is a contract position for 4 months . We are looking for a passionate and detail orientated candidate to fill this position.
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids, analyzing project specifications, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions. The responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Responsibilities
- Analyze new opportunities, assessing project scope, bid price, schedule, and potential partners.
- Lead discussions during weekly estimating meetings to review bid opportunities and determine go / no-go decisions.
- Develop relationships with clients to understand their needs and project goals.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for formwork and bridge construction projects.
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Perform detailed cost analysis of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Ensure all cost estimates are prepared in line with company profitability and risk management goals.
- Lead the preparation and submission of competitive bid proposals.
- Oversee the compilation of bid documents, ensuring adherence to client specifications and deadlines.
- Participate in bid reviews and make necessary adjustments for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct on-site visits to verify that the proposed construction methodology is suitable for site-specific constraints.
- Collaborate with construction staff to confirm construction methodology.
- Manage Request for Quotations (RFQs) for subcontractors and material suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, contract terms, and agreements to secure favorable conditions for the company.
Qualifications
Post secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally in formwork and / or bridge construction.Strong knowledge of estimation software and tools (Microsoft Excel, Planswift, Salesforce).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Leadership experience or the desire to lead and mentor others.This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, can quickly get up to speed on our projects, and is eager to contribute to a positive team culture built on trust, growth, and doing the right thing.

Compensation based on skills and experience, is a competitive biweekly salary between the range of $2,880 - $3,650 , and a host of attractive benefits including :
