Job description

Overview

The Co-op Ethanol Complex (CEC) is hiring a Grain & Recieving & Loadout Operator on a full time permanent basis on our Manufacturing team.

This position requires on-site work and is based near Belle Plaine, SK.

Shift : Monday – Friday 8 : 00 am – 4 : 30 pm with the possibility of overtime

Responsibilities

What you’ll do :

The Material Handler is responsible for the receiving of inbound feedstock and the outbound movement of Wet Distiller’s Grain (WDG), Dry Distiller’s Grain (DDG), Ethanol rail cars, and various maintenance and administrative activities. Duties include :

  • Probing trucks, analysis of grain for quality characteristics and completion of grain receipts.
  • Operating a front-end loader or skid steer to load WDG trucks and DDG trucks.
  • Completing administrative work and operating overhead shipping scale.
  • Loading ethanol into tank cars using the ethanol skid.
  • Clean and maintain rail track and switches to ensure rail cars can be moved into position for loading and shipping out using track mobile.
  • Snow removal and general maintenance of rail track, switches, roads and site.
  • Support other departments by completing such activities such as safety watch.

Who you are

You are looking for a career in Production, Trades and Maintenance and :

  • You have a grade 12 diploma.
  • You have a minimum of 1 – 3 years of relevant experience grain grading and receiving, operating heavy equipment, or rail operations, or transferable skills.
  • You have strong customer service skills.
  • Heavy equipment certification is preferred.

  • This is a unionized role that resides with UNIFOR Canada Local 594. As a union member, you would be subject to pay union dues as part of the collective agreement. This position has a starting wage of $33.18 / hour and overtime is paid at double time.

    NOTE : The internal title for this position is Material Handler.
