Front-end Developer with experience in water domain
Join DHI as a Front‑end Developer who builds scalable, high‑performance web interfaces using React and TypeScript for projects around the world, mainly in Canada.
Role Overview
The developer will work largely independently from the Canadian office while collaborating with international teams in Denmark, Czechia, Singapore, and Australia. You will deliver front‑end functionality that integrates GIS services, large data visualisation, and time‑series analytics for water‑related applications.
Responsibilities
- Support front‑end projects for Canadian and international offices.
- Lead the development and deployment of performant, reliable, and scalable front‑end services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using best practices – AI code generation is not allowed.
- Defend architectural decisions related to API and front‑end code design.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a Front‑end Developer on commercial software products and custom solutions.Proven experience in React and TypeScript development.Proven experience working with GIS services and spatial data.Proven experience working with DHI MIKE software and associated libraries.Familiarity with time‑series optimized storage / querying / postprocessing.Proven experience working with large datasets.Relevant work experience in the water industry (marine and coastal, river and / or urban).Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.Minimum of 4+ years of software development experience.Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication abilities.Proficient skills in written and verbal English.Desirable
Experience as a Senior Developer on backend parts of commercial software products or custom solutions.Experience developing using .NET technology and C#.Familiarity with Python.Familiarity with Postgres and SQLite.In‑depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.Proficient knowledge of work organisation using Azure DevOps or JIRA.DHI Offers
