Full-Time School Dispatcher - East Ferris

Transdev is currently recruiting for a Full Time Dispatcher for School Bus Drivers in East Ferris, Ontario. Reporting to the School Supervisor, the Schools Dispatcher is responsible for the dispatch of drivers and providing accurate direction. The role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure dispatch and driver operations are in accordance with established standards
• Creatively arrange routes and driver resources to ensure contracted routes are covered for driver illness and holidays
• Customer service calls, recurring rides & special event co-ordination
• Incident reporting
• Dispatch drivers to various routes on a timely basis
• Alert drivers to road closures and other delays
• Identify all runs and drivers active on routes are on time to ensure no students are left behind
• Manage and pull a variety of reports as per the General Manager's directive
• Manage and assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance as required
• Answer phones, fax, and email correspondence in a professional and courteous manner
• This full time role runs year round, and is not defined by the school calendar
• Dispatchers receive a 2 week holiday pro-rated the first year

You will need a reliable means of transportation to work in all weather. Attendance and timeliness are of the essence. The ability to be flexible with work hours in response to changing company needs is required.
