About the role

We’re looking for a Manager, Finance - Accounts Receivable , to join our growing team!

What you’ll do here :

  • Contribute to the daily and monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable from Intact Insurance and belairdirect.
  • Participate in the annual budget exercise for accounts receivable including monthly analysis of variances and validation of charges.
  • Supervise the payment of commissions to brokers including the management of bank accounts and the issuance of checks.
  • Manage the entries of accounts receivable in the General Ledger, including those related to inter-company transfers, the reclassification of expenses and cash receipt transactions.
  • Take part in various projects that may relate to complex subjects (IFRS17, EDW, Contact Billing).
  • Help apply controls, facilitate the audit process, and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Supervise other related tasks (management of client payments in Agency bill, refunds to clients, taxes outside Quebec).
  • Direct, assist and coach unit manager and employees to help them reach their full potential and ensure adequate succession at all levels.

What you bring to the table :

  • CPA designation – is required
  • Minimum 5-years experience in accounting and accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Minimum 5-years experience leading and / or managing a team
  • Strong user knowledge in Excel – is required
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance industry - asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills, insight and discipline
  • Leadership skills, team player, independent and efficient
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
