AFTERNOON GROUND HANDLERS (RAMP AGENTS) – YVR Area

Vancouver Air Gateway Operations

Shift Starts :   2 : 00PM (Monday – Friday)

UPS is currently looking for  Afternoon Shift Ground Handlers (Ramp Agents)  for our  Vancouver Air Gateway Operations (near YVR) .

We are located at :   5960 Ferguson Road, Richmond BC

In this role,  UPS Ground Handlers (Ramp Agents)  work outside on the ramp around the UPS aircraft.

This is an outdoor, physical, fast-paced position that involves the following :

Load air containers and packages onto the UPS plane

Operate ground equipment

Marshall and direct plane in or out of parking position

Remove safety equipment around the UPS plane and assist with next day set up

Qualifications / Skills :

Ability to multi-task

Able to work in a fast-paced work environment

Permanent shift : Monday to Friday

Commit to work in an afternoon shift, five days per week ( 2 : 00PM - 7 : 00PM )

Work shifts normally span from 27 to 30 hours per week

Shifts cannot be adjusted to fit within 20 hours per week

Must have a  valid Class 5 BC Driver's license  (you will operate ramp vehicles / equipment)

Must have  a recent and clean drivers abstract

Must be available to work 5 days a week

Must be able to lift up to 70-lbs unassisted

No experience necessary - on the job training provided

Safety shoes / boots

Must enjoy working outdoors - where the majority of your shift will be spent

Extended Background Checks will be required

All candidates must be eligible to apply for and successfully secure a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC Pass) and must be able to show five (5) years of continuous residency and work history as part of Transport Canada requirements.

Tuition Reimbursement :  UPS offers tuition reimbursement up to maximum of  $3,000 / per semester

Training and Development :  UPS provides full training for all positions to ensure safety and compliance to policies and regulations;

Weekly Compensation :  Employees are paid on a weekly basis (every Friday);

Guaranteed Wage Progression :  Employees are to receive guaranteed wage progression with a guaranteed top rate.  On completing progression, all UPS Ramp Agents receive a top rate of above $28.00¹ per hour ;
