Considering the broad range of licensing and assets under the purview of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, Nutrien has a vision to optimally perform in its various on-premise, cloud, and end user platforms with the right tools, process, and active licensing management to maintain ideal positions in risk, security, and cost management while maintaining user experience. Total visibility of assets for dependent management, incident, or change processes for IT groups is essential. Having a strong understanding of flexible cloud and subscription licensing models to drive process and reporting that controls costs will be key.

This role will be accountable for the broad portfolio of infrastructure software and hardware spend models in place (with a basic understanding of contractual governance) and maintain service partner or manufacturer relationships to co-drive the ideal blend of agility, flexibility, process, and optimal spend. This role will work closely with all Infrastructure groups to maintain a working partnership. Lacking process or tool sets will be an accountability to uncover and oversee implementation of a solution or supportive organizational change for net benefit in many areas that depend on accurate licensing and asset management to support the business.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Network, Cloud & Data.

What you will do :

  • Service owner of software / hardware asset management platform acting as lead escalation for operational issues that support other IT or business teams
  • Oversight of licensing or other flexible use product quantities to ensure compliance and agility
  • Partnership with other IT teams to ensure cloud or subscription licensing models are efficient, driving change where opportunities are uncovered
  • SME for exploration of new services with cloud providers to assist with spend model and contract analysis
  • Escalation point for operations impacted by licensing or asset management
  • Support escalation point to assist with external service partners in resolving priority issues where improved response is needed; further driving change to avoid reoccurrence
  • Maintain budget data for utilization and forecast to ensure resource spend is properly accounted for, either directly within EUC or providing input to other IT leaders
  • Consult with IT leaders to determine required licensing levels to onboard new product sets or adjustment activities to drive savings
  • Can be internal IT or business facing or external service partner facing, bringing disparate parties together to deliver
  • Provide guidance and direction for project focused teams as an SME for collaboration technologies

What you will bring :

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in relevant discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field as an expert licensing and asset leader within a large IT organization
  • Strong ability to think strategically with a centered theme of the end user experience across multiple geographies and business units
  • Initiative to define and oversee implementation of a new solution. Starting from the business problem, deriving necessary architecture or platform changes, define successful outcomes, and lead execution and change management
  • Customer oriented mindset to execute with business awareness for prioritization of projects, tasks, and incident resolution to meet expectations with minimal user impact
  • Leadership experience to manage team resourcing, peers, or peer teams in delivery
  • Experience with asset management platforms for software / hardware licensing compliance and lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize spend with cloud computing subscription based or premise licensing in a global model
  • Strong understanding of licensing models and contracts with major providers in a large enterprise environment (global preferred)
  • Efficiency in single point of contact for internal IT groups or external service partners, often brokering the right conversations to resolve incidents or deliver new solutions
  • Keen understanding and ability to maintain cloud and software market trends to support future strategies
  • Skillset to build analysis of cost models and forecast in a presentation medium delivering key messages to dependent IT teams, business groups, or executive leadership for decisions
  • Experience in accountability for asset inventory to report accurate data in support of audits or yearly true-up activities
  • Experience with optimizing Microsoft licensing models, particularly in Enterprise Agreements and Unified Support
  • Preference of familiarity with asset integrated platforms such as SCCM, InTune, or ServiceNow with cloud hosted infrastructure and applications
  • Adept in working with Microsoft support for user or major incident management
  • Ability to shift from strategic to tactical level as required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
