Job Purpose

• Able to provide "wow factor" service to our clients so they wish to have all their insurance needs met by us.

• To assist in sales, marketing and servicing of Desjardins General Insurance Group/Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company Auto, Home, Business and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company Life and Living Benefits and other financial services products (hereafter referred to as financial services), as an employee of a Desjardins Independent Contractor Agent.

Experience and Knowledge

• Experience in a variety of computer applications, particularly Windows applications, desirable
• Demonstrated leadership skills preferred
• Experience in outside sales desirable
• Knowledge of the following is desirable: Auto, Home, Business, Life, and Living Benefits products.

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to become fully licensed to solicit Desjardins General Insurance Group/Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company Auto, Home, Business and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company life and financial services products, including Life and Living Benefits
• Ability to have regularly scheduled booked appointments to present and solicit financial services products
• Ability to present and solicit insurance and financial services products to potential and existing clients
• Ability to conduct needs based marketing interviews with potential and existing clients
• Ability to consistently meet monthly sales goals set by Team Member and/or Agent
• Ability to track and monitor goals and hold self-accountable
• Ability to explain complex insurance and financial issues in understandable terms
• Ability to effectively relate to customers within a sales environment
• Strong listening, oral, and written communications skills
• Ability to take initiative and act effectively both individually and as a member of a team without direction
• Ability to create and maintain professional business relationships with prospects, policyholders, co-workers, and associates within the Desjardins organization

Job related Licensing and Training

• Successfully complete and maintain all Provincial and Desjardins requirements – OTL (Other than Life) or RIBO for position.
• registration - to solicit and service designated Desjardins General Insurance Group/Certas Home and Auto and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company products and services
• Remain current in all product changes and technical developments, and participate in company and industry training sessions as required.
• LLQP will be required to be achieved in the first 12 months of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain licenses and/or registrations to solicit Desjardins General Insurance Group/Certas Home and Auto Insurance Company and Desjardins Financial Security Life Assurance Company products, as requested
• Assist in developing a financial services marketing/sales plan for the agency
• Follow and update Checktivity in Racing Snail daily
• Develop and contact on a daily basis qualified leads and set appointments for financial services products
• Create and facilitate financial services product presentations to potential and existing clients
• Conduct needs based marketing interviews within the agent’s office or client’s home or business
• Pivot to other product lines on the phone and in person
• Utilize agency and Desjardins computer applications, marketing tools as required and available
• Accurately prepare forms, policies, endorsements when required
• Follow up with customers and keep the agent informed
• Provide prompt, professional customer service
• Participate in training and team meetings as requested
• Assist in training new Team Members
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Agent

ITEMS TO NOTE

• Position may require irregular hours on an occasional basis
• Position may require travel to other Desjardins locations as well as to clients’ homes or businesses
• Position may require participation in attending community and networking events Position will require photos of yourself to be depicted on Business cards, advertising and social media

$48,000 per year base salary - Generous Commissions and Bonus structure
Must have vehicle to commute to work
