Job description

Reporting to the Business Performance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering complex and strategic projects within the Individual Life Insurance and Investment & Retirement business lines. You will be involved from the earliest stages of initiatives to understand business needs, define and document requirements, and ensure solutions align with corporate objectives.

In addition to analytical responsibilities, you will act as a mentor to business analysts, supporting their development and promoting best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements for complex projects, including digital transformation and system integration initiatives.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear actionable functional and non‑functional specifications, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, developers, and QA specialists to design solutions, validate deliverables, and maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate and facilitate with stakeholders, lead workshops, and drive process improvements across business and technology teams.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to support team development, promote best practices, and contribute to change management initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle, documenting decisions and maintaining project requirements.
  • Gather and document business requirements and collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, IT, or related field and 8+ years of business analysis experience on complex projects (insurance or financial services is an asset).
  • Expertise in gathering and documenting requirements, and creating clear specifications while applying Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; bilingual (French and English) preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project); knowledge of insurance systems is an asset.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI‑PBA, or Prosci are an advantage.
