Student Project Coordinator
What You’ll Be Working On
Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor.
We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.
Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length, and typically focus on a current construction project.
We are seeking a student to join us for a four-month co-op position starting in September 2024 . This role will have positions available throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities :
Project Coordination :
Coordinate drawings and work specific scope / trades.
Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
Participate in project meetings.
Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
Issue warranties.
Take and coordinate progress photos.
Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
Field Coordination :
Perform quantity takeoffs.
Coordinate sub-trade work.
Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
Supervise sub-trade work.
Set up and maintain record keeping.
Layout site lines and grades using total station.
Scheduling :
Update project schedules.
Create manual schedules and update schedules
Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.
Create and maintain graphical scheduling
Monitor manpower productivity.

Who We Need On Our Team
You are currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program
You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships

Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries
