Our client is a well-established, highly respected commercial general contractor specializing in large-scale retail new construction projects across Western Canada. Known for their strong client relationships, disciplined project delivery, and collaborative culture, they are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex retail builds from preconstruction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle project management for commercial retail new build projects, from preconstruction and contract execution through turnover and warranty
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage and mentor Project Managers, Coordinators, and site teams as required
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Review contracts, scopes, drawings, and specifications to mitigate risk and ensure alignment
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers, including contract negotiations and performance oversight
- Monitor project progress and proactively resolve schedule, cost, and constructability challenges
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company best practices
- Lead project meetings, including OAC meetings and internal management reviews
- Drive closeout activities, including deficiencies, documentation, and financial reconciliation
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a strong focus on retail new build projectsProven experience as a Senior Project Manager or equivalent leadership role with a general contractorDemonstrated success managing multiple projects or large, complex retail builds simultaneouslyIn-depth understanding of construction contracts, schedules, budgets, and cost controlsStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to problem-solve under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-moving environmentsPost-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferredWhat’s Offered
