Purpose of the Job

The mission of the Performances & Simulations Engineering Student / Intern is to support the general design and the global optimization of the railway transport system from a systems level point of view. To carry out this task use of system simulation and data analysis tools will be required.

Responsibilities

The Performance and Simulations Engineering Student / Intern will s upport the Performance Modelling team (Operational Performance and Power System Analysts and Engineers) to :

• Validate the accuracy and consistency of transit system operational and power system modelling parameters.
• Maintain Databooks consisting of all inputs parameters.
• Ensure coherence of the simulation input data and the verification of the output results.
• Use calculation and data management tools to translate simulation outputs into a comprehensbile means for reporting.
• Help assess the compatibility between the performances of the system offered and its operational goals.
• Ensure that the subsystems functional specifications include the necessary elements to achieve the system performance.
• Support in developing attractive and comprehensible technical documents to obtain the customers understanding and confidence.
• Manipulate data from internal customers to a simulation standardized format.
• Assist in model development and maintenance.

Educational requirements

University degree in Engineering or enrolled in an Engineering program.
