SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Development, the Manager, Software Development manages a team of software developers in one or more aspects of the process : architecture, design, programming, testing, project management or integration.

He / she ensures the proper management of the activities of his / her team members in agile mode, their versatility, and the achievement of the group's objectives. In addition, he / she actively participates in the decision-making process of the development department's vice-presidency through his / her collaboration and exchanges with his / her director and colleagues.

Responsibilities

In addition, your responsibilities will include :

People management :

• Assess staffing needs, hire to replace or reassign individuals as needed with the goal of creating effective teams;
• Participate in setting and achieving goals;
• Manage team performance and implement performance improvement plans for low performers;
• Provide ongoing, timely feedback to team members;
• Resolve interpersonal issues, assist in conflict resolution;
• Assist employees in their professional development, act as a coach / mentor to continuously improve performance and satisfaction of team members;
• Guide employees on a daily basis;
• Create an agile, mutually respectful environment where individuals are confident, secure and able to innovate;
• Remove blockers to individual and team performance;
• Provide ongoing and timely communication regarding departmental issues;
• Establish quick and effective onboarding plans for new employees.
