DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of our Contract Administration Division, you will be responsible for field inspection assignments for construction sites throughout Ontario.
For each project, we strategically select staff based on proximity and required proficiency.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Inspecting construction of various projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality and safety standards;
- Providing office administrative support, including utilization of client software platforms;
- Maintaining payment verification records, updating submittal status logs, preparing meeting minutes, etc.
- Interpreting requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications;
- Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports and maintaining documentation;
- Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports and maintaining documentation;
- Liaising with contractors and other stakeholders, and;
- Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering;
- Experience in engineering and construction inspection works;
- Experience in engineering and construction coordination / administration;
- Excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail skills;
- Demonstrated willingness to learn;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance;
- Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to sire locations within the area.
EXPERIENCE
- 3 to 5 years experience in structural, watermain, asphalt and / or grade inspection on road and / or bridge construction projects;
- Demonstrated experience as a Construction Inspector on at least two (2) previous projects;
- Demonstrated experience as an Office Administrator or Project Coordinator on at least two (2) previous projects;
- Registered as an EIT, if applicable, or P. Eng. with PEO or rcsi with OACETT or ability to obtain this designation within six (6) months.
