Who are we?
WAAS Aerospace Inc. has been in operation since 2014 and is a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO). We operate from facilities located on the South Shore of Montreal at MET Montreal Metropolitan Airport (CYHU) and in Quebec City at Jean Lesage International Airport (CYQB).
We provide scheduled and line maintenance services, avionics modifications, and research and development services for business aircraft and large carriers. We offer 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) services to help customers meet their on-time departure obligations and minimize downtime.
Our parent company, Chrono Aviation, was founded in Quebec City in 2012. At its inception, the company operated a single Pilatus PC-12 and employed two pilots. Today, the Chrono Aviation Group boasts a fleet of 12 aircraft and a team of 200 employees.
Role and context
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – M1 is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying piston-engine aircraft in accordance with safety and airworthiness standards. The engineer ensures that all work is performed in compliance with Transport Canada regulations, manufacturer requirements, and the company’s internal procedures.
Key responsibilities
• Assist with aircraft systems inspections, repairs, and adjustments
• Follow instructions from licensed technicians when performing tasks
• Document interventions in the maintenance system
• Adhere to current safety and quality procedures
• Participate in functional tests and technical verifications
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Prepare tools, parts, and equipment required for tasks
• Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals under supervision
• Complete mandatory training (internal and regulatory)
• Contribute to a safety-oriented culture and a positive team environment

Specific job requirements
• DEC in Aircraft Maintenance (all eligible options)
• Must be registered or actively pursuing an AME licence (M, E, or S)
• Basic knowledge of aeronautical systems and technical documentation
• Manual dexterity and ability to work with specialized tools
• Willingness to work variable shifts (day, evening, night)
• Interest in structured and regulated environments
• Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces
• Proficiency in French is required for this position. In addition, a strong command of English is also necessary in order to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada or abroad.

Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (YQB) • Québec, QC, Canada
