Job description
Position: Cree Language and Culture TeacherLocation: Start Date: As soon as possibleFTE: 1.00 FTE Term of Employment: PermanentApplication Deadline: Open Until FilledThe Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expense reimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifying communities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more! Frontier Mosakahiken School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 415 students. The school is located in Moose Lake which is 100 km east of The Pas, Manitoba (a full service community) and is accessible by road. This lakeside community's natural beauty provides for an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities.Qualifications:Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)Fluency in the Cree language both written and oralKnowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and the Truth and Reconciliation calls to actionPrevious teaching experienceFamiliarity with the Kindergarten to Grade 12 Aboriginal Languages and Culture: Manitoba Curriculum Framework of OutcomesA team player committed to the belief that all students can learn Duties and Responsibilities:Provide instruction to increase students' ability to understand, speak and use a written form of the Cree language and improve cultural knowledgeIncorporate Indigenous Way of Life and ways of learning into classroom instructionGather resources to support language instruction including localized knowledge/speakersEstablish community connections with the local associations and organizations that promote Indigenous Languages and Way of Life Assist in the coordination of school cultural activities in cooperation with fellow teachers and community knowledge keepers Applicants are required to submit the following:cover lettercurrent resumelist of three professional references including contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicant's performance in the applicant's current or recent assignment Thank you for your interest; however,
