Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT Manager to join our dynamic team at MediaValet. This role will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and as the IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our internal IT infrastructure and systems (On-Prem and Azure Cloud).
You will be responsible for managing a wide range of IT functions, including network administration, cybersecurity, hardware and software maintenance, and internal user support.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a rapidly expanding SaaS company in the heart of Vancouver.
Please note that while MediaValet is a remote-first company, this role will require 2-3 days per week in the office.
What you’ll be doing :
- Network Administration : Oversee the design, implementation, management and maintenance of our IT network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, DNS, and cloud-based services.
- Cybersecurity Management : Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and mitigate cyber threats.
Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Assisting with the triage of security events, including phishing emails, endpoint security alerts, cloud-based notifications, and SIEM alerts.
Hardware and Software Maintenance : Manage the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware and software assets, including servers, laptops, peripherals, and enterprise applications.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed.
- User Support : Manage our MSP and work alongside to provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to employees on IT-related issues, including hardware / software problems, network connectivity issues, and access permissions.
- IT Strategy and Planning : Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic IT initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and competitive advantage.
- Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such ISO and SOC 2. Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to safeguard data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity : Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize the impact of IT disruptions and ensure timely recovery of critical systems and services.
- Vendor Management : Manage relationships with external IT vendors, contractors, and service providers. Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and pricing agreements to optimize value and service quality.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. Generate regular reports on IT performance metrics, including uptime, response times, and incident resolution.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft Azure, CompTIA) are a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in IT management roles, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
- Strong technical proficiency in systems administration, cloud computing, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is desirable.
