Wage Rate: $23.08 – 24.46 per hour (note: the above hourly rate includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).

Schedule: Variable Schedule, guaranteed between forty-eight (48) and seventy (70) hours each pay period. Schedules may vary each pay period and employees will be provided with their schedule at least six (6) weeks in advance.

Pathways to Independence requires three (3) Regular Part Time Support Workers to provide assisted living support for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker, ABI supports adults living with a brain injury with activities of daily living such as homemaking, personal care, community, and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s individual service plan. The Support Worker, ABI, will implement established strategies and behavior management plans under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor, ABI. The Support Worker, ABI, ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills.

The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:

• Secondary school graduation and a minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services (Personal Support Worker or equivalent).
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Valid G class driver’s license.

• Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation.

• Demonstrate a person-centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission and guiding principles,
• Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems in a professional manner.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in electronic mail and other computer-based tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to advocate on behalf of the client.
• Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
• Experience working with adults with a brain injury in a community based, group living or independent living environment.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. May work with clients who have aggressive behavior.
