Reporting to the Sr Finance Manager, the Sr. Financial Analyst supports in all financial areas regarding forecasting / budgeting, analytics, and reporting for the Canadian team. The Sr. Financial Analyst will provide financial reporting, planning, and analysis to support Canada T&O operating and functional areas. The Senior Financial Analyst excels in establishing effective working relationships with business partners in Canada and the US that contribute thoughtful analysis for decision-making. The Sr. Financial Analyst has a strong passion for quantitative analysis, working cross functionally, and establishing new and innovative ways to improve business processes and tools.

  • Participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual planning and forecasting activities
  • Build and maintain customer / business unit P&Ls and determine price, volume, mix and cost components that explain the variance to budget, forecast and prior year
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly analysis
  • Provide sr. finance with a recap of the actual results with a detailed analysis
  • Identify and communicate financial / operational trends that represent a significant impact to the business
  • Issue routine reporting and tracking of detailed financial information needed within the business
  • Prepare financial presentations and reports for various levels of senior leadership, with the ability to highlight the most relevant and important findings
  • Demonstrate logic and a creative approach to problem solving while providing insights
  • Provide ad hoc support and analysis, inclusive of strategic findings and recommendations, to Finance and Operations organizations to drive decision making for the leadership team
  • Develop and implement improvements to business processes and tools
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s in Finance or Business degree
  • CPA designation, or pursual of designation
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and summarize financial information for accuracy and conformance to procedures and regulations
  • Proficiency in SQL based database management, MS Access, Snowflake, or similar system. Ability to build, modify and execute queries.
  • Advanced Excel user, experience with integrated data visualization tools such as Power BI; Hyperion, EPM;
  • Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP or similar systems
  • Well organized with analytical and problem solving skills
  • High energy / self motivation
  • Able to adapt with change and work under pressure in a detailed, accurate, and deadline based environment
