Le Centre de santé Tulattavik de L’Ungava est situé à Kuujjuaq. Il dispense l’ensemble des services de santé et services sociaux dans la partie est du Nunavik.

Il dessert sept communautés Inuites avec autant de CLSC, un centre pour personnes âgées et un centre hospitalier à Kuujjuaq.

Il emploie environ 1,000 employés : administrateurs, professionnels, médecins, dentistes, psychologues, infirmiers, travailleurs sociaux, personnel de soutien, employés occasionnels, etc.

Les communautés du Nunavik sont situées au nord du 55e parallèle où prévaut un climat subarctique. Il entraîne l’existence d’un pergélisol et ne permet aucune agriculture.

Le Nunavik est la plus grande région couvrant environ le tiers de la superficie globale du Québec. Aucune liaison routière n’existe entre les communautés du Nunavik et le Québec méridional, ni entre les communautés du Nunavik elles-mêmes.

On a accès à cette région et à ses communautés que par avion et par bateau.

Responsibilities

TITRE D’EMPLOI : Ergothérapeute - Kuujjuaq

STATUT : Temps complet temporaire (35 heures / semaine)

SUPERIEUR : Chef de programme Réadaptation Physique

DATE DE DÉBUT : Dès que possible

FONCTIONS :

Sous l’autorité du supérieur immédiat, l’ergothérapeute évalue la clientèle (les capacités / difficultés à accomplir les activités courantes ainsi que l’environnement physique et social), conçoit et met en application des plans d’intervention.

L’ergothérapeute assure le suivi de la clientèle selon les objectifs thérapeutiques établis, rédige des rapports et consigne au dossier les interventions réalisées.

L’ergothérapeute sera appelé à travailler en équipe multidisciplinaire auprès d’une clientèle variée (déficience physique, perte d’autonomie liée au vieillissement, réadaptation de la main) et dans divers milieux (hospitalier, CHSLD, domicile, CLSC, etc).

L’ergothérapeute doit être disposé à se déplacer, lorsque requis, dans les autres villages desservis par l’établissement.

Doit effectuer toute autre tâche connexe au besoin.

Qualifications

Doit détenir un premier diplôme universitaire terminal en ergothérapie

Membre en règle de l’Ordre professionnel des ergothérapeutes du Québec

Détenir une expérience significative d’évaluation et de traitement avec une clientèle diversifiée composée d’adultes et de personnes âgées ainsi qu’en adaptation de domicile et d’aide technique;

une expérience significative auprès d’une clientèle multiethnique sera considérée comme un atout important

Bilinguisme essentiel Anglais / Français (parlé et écrit); la connaissance de l’inuktitut est un atout

Capacité d’établir et de maintenir des relations interpersonnelles positives

Grande capacité d’adaptation et d’autonomie

Sens de l’organisation, leadership, dynamisme et confiance en soi

Permis de conduire obligatoire

SALAIRE : Min. 961.10$ / sem. Max. $1763.65 / sem.

PRIME NORDIQUE : 203.66 $ / semaine

PRIME VIE CHÈRE : 74.17 $ / semaine

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik.

Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees : administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture.

Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves.

We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

JOB TITLE : Occupational Therapist - Kuujjuaq

STATUS : Temporary Full-Time (35 hours / week)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Head of Programs Physical Rehabilitation

STARTING DATE : Has soon as possible

FUNCTIONS :

Under the authority of the immediate superior, the person evaluates the clients (capacity and difficulty to perform tasks, physical environment and social environment), designs, defines and implements intervention plans.

The occupational therapist evaluates the progress of the beneficiaries in accordance to established objectives, writes in observation reports and records treatments given in the beneficiary’s file.

The person is requested to work with other professionals in different multidisciplinary teams (short term unit, Elders’ Home and Home Care) and supply services to a variety of clients.

If necessary, may be requested to travel in other communities. Must perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Must have a first cycle terminal diploma in occupational therapy

  • Member of Ordre professionnel des Ergothérapeutes du Québec ;
  • Relevant experience in evaluation and treatment with varied clientele (adults and elders) also in adaptation of residence and technical aids;
  • experience with multiethnic client will be consider an important asset;

Bilingualism is essential (French-English), spoken and written. Knowledge of Inuktitut would be an asset

  • Capacity to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationship;
  • Large capacity for adaptation and autonomy;

Sense of organization, leadership, dynamism and self confidence

Must have a valid driver’s license

SALARY : Min. $961.10 / sem. Max. $1 763.65 / sem.

RETENTION PREMIUM : 114.99$ / week or more

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per status, shared lodging or transit if necessary.
