Student Labourer (Sportsfields and Courts)

Overview

The City of Kitchener is hiring summer students to prepare, maintain and ensure our Sportsfield & Courts are ready for use.

Two Shifts Are Available

Monday to Friday 7 : 00AM to 3 : 00PM

Wednesday to Sunday 7 : 00AM to 3 : 00PM

(Temporary Full Time for Approximately 4 Months)

Responsibilities

• Marks lines on ball diamonds and other sports fields using line marking equipment (chalk or paint).
• Grooms ball diamond infields; back drags infields using small tractor.
• Supports necessary maintenance of hard surface courts including tennis, pickleball & basketball courts.
• Provides evening and weekend support; locks buildings, opens / closes restrooms.
• Collects and removes debris at various locations around the city, empty garbage receptacles.
• Operates grass cutting equipment (push mower, small tractor with attachment), leaf blower, and gas-powered line trimmer.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
