Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Specialist supports the timely and accurate processing of corporate and client payroll for BC, AB, and ON as well as owning administrative activities relating to payroll and benefit functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Payroll:
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of timecards for bi-weekly corporate and client payroll submission, including contacting managers to confirm time worked; ensuring accurate time split; reviewing vacation requests and approvals.
- Maintaining up-to-date payroll documentation for all current and departing employees including Records of Employment
- Generating payroll-related reports, allocations, reconciliations, registers and journal entries
- Reviewing and recording leave entitlements such as vacation and sick time; provide analysis for vacation takings if requested.
- Filing WCB premiums for corporate and client payroll; submitting WCB address changes for new clients
- Respond to payroll and benefits related questions and concerns from associates in a timely manner.
- Input new hires, personnel changes and terminations.
- Process manual cheque requisitions as required.
- Assisting with associate enrollments into our ADP HRIS. Troubleshooting registration and other access issues as needed
- Working with the HR team on projects that intersect HR & Payroll and other related duties as requested.
- Produce analysis and provide analysis details for client payroll to support client financial budgeting decisions, including monthly or bi-weekly reporting to Clients
- Liaising with ADP to continually update and improve ADP system for client requirements
- Auditing of payroll systems to ensure proper functionality and escalating issues to payroll service providers: WorkSafe BC premiums (collaboration, quarterly), vacation audits (as requested by HR for budgeting, LOA returns), cost allocation analysis with accounting.
- Complete and oversee the production of T2200s at year end for employees
- Assist with payroll year-end validation and new-year activities

- Ensuring accurate enrolment in company benefit plans by promptly processing new members, terminations and status changes
- Complete monthly benefits reconciliation, ensuring accurate deduction schedules
- Calculating and processing chargebacks as required
- Conduct ad- hoc analysis as required, such as reconciliation and billing analysis and provider comparison for client payroll
- RRSP reporting – auditing and checking enrollments (interim while manual process: entering enrollments in ADP for contributions)
- Escalate any benefit invoice discrepancies with the benefit provider
This role may require varied hours/days in order to meet payroll deadlines Education & Experience - 4+ years’ HR or Payroll experience, ideally working in an environment using ADP software (ADP Vantage and ADP Workforce Now)
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation or working towards completion of certification is an asset
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Post-secondary education and/or related training courses in a related field

Compensation Compensation for this role is between $60 – 70,000 + benefits.
