Position Description
The Assistant Resident Manager will work full-time and live on site, including working every other weekend and occasional on‑calls. The primary focus of this role is to maintain a high standard of care for the property.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner
- Promote a welcoming atmosphere
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and a "can‑do" attitude
- Attend to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
- Follow up with residents to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Handle office administrative tasks, such as processing online applications, creating notices, managing lease renewals, and other duties related to support daily operations
- Organize, promote and execute resident events (i.e., holiday parties & summer barbecues)
General Cleaning
Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftopsKnowledge and safe handling of cleaning chemicalsPerform thorough cleaning of vacant units, ensuring they are move‑in readyDust fire hose cabinets, bells and elevator tracks to minimize excess debrisMonitor and clean garbage chutes, garbage and recycling roomsCollect garbage and recycling bins in coordination with the city waste scheduleConduct yard maintenance, including picking up loose garbage around the exterior, removing snow and ice, salting entrances and walkways, and rooftop walkwaysProperty Maintenance
Assist residents in completing maintenance requests through the proper channelsDaily walkthroughs of each floor, stairwell, and common areas fixing minor deficienciesReport serious deficiencies related to curb appeal or safety hazards to the direct supervisor for further actionAssist the supervisor in HVAC monitoring, troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, boiler & chiller maintenanceAssist the supervisor with scheduling and overseeing repair activities of tradesmen and contractors as requiredFire Safety
Knowledge of fire and life safety response systems (fire alarms and detection systems)Assist in emergency proceduresQualifications
Previous or similar property management experience an assetStrong customer service skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to perform general cleaning duties, and minor maintenance repairsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to push and move objects exceeding 50 lbs. (e.g., garbage bins, appliances)Fluent in English and French (applicable to Quebec only)Application
