Reporting to the senior manager engineering, the electrical engineer will be responsible for configuration changes to rolling stock and the refurbishment programs of electrical, electronic, and instrumentation & control systems. They will also serve as an intermediary between various stakeholders, such as workshop personnel, procurement, and operations, providing technical support.

Responsibilities

• Design improvements to railway equipment (preliminary design, schedules, time and material estimates, engineering documentation, etc.).
• Enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical and control systems, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and programming.
• Oversee the deployment of solutions (coordination of activities, acceptance testing, liaison with contractors / suppliers and workshop personnel, etc.).
• Provide technical support to various departments (technical review of tenders, safety protocols for design, etc.).
• Develop and ensure compliance with maintenance and operating standards for electrical and electronic systems.
• Work on a variety of electrical systems on board train cars such as HVAC, doors, electrical power transmission, refrigeration systems, lighting, communication systems, monitoring, toilet systems, and circuit protection against freezing.
