Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our team at Wesko Locks. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely availability of materials, minimizes stock discrepancies, and supports production efficiency through effective inventory control practices.
Key Responsibilities
Material Handling : + Receive, sort, and store material shipments from suppliers.+ Fulfill material requests for production by picking and delivery to Production areas promptly and accurately.+ Update the inventory transactions, receiving, transfers, and material usage into the WMS system and ERP system to ensure real-time inventory accuracy.+ Maintain organized and safe storage areas.+ Optimize the storage and part identification by labelling.
Maintain accuracy of inventory database in collaboration with supply chain.
Coordination & Reporting : + Collaborate with purchasing and production for min. stock level or shortages.+ Prepare and submit inventory reports, including stock levels, usage trends, and variances.+ Identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory and recommend disposition.
Maintenance+ Maintain charge / fuel levels on reach trucks and forklifts+ Daily Safety inspection of the forklifts.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement : + Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.+ Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
From time to time, workload requirements may change, and the Material Handler may be required to perform other duties as needed to support business needs.
Experience : 1–3 years in driving counterbalance and reach truck, inventory control, and warehouse management within manufacturing (preferred)
Experience with Excel, WMS, ERP is required.
Attributes : Detail orientation, problem‑solving, teamwork, and clear communication.
Eligibility : Legally entitled to work in Canada,
Must have a valid counterbalance and reach truck license.
Physical Demands :
Ability to stand for extended periods during production operations.
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle materials, operate tools, and assemble components.
May be required to lift, carry, or move parts and materials up to 50 lbs.
Occasional bending, reaching, and walking within the production area.
Schedule :
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7 : 45am-4 : 15pm
Shift timings and schedules may change from time to time based on operational requirements.
Compensation :
$20-$25 / hr
