Job Description :
Reporting to the Director, Langara Global, the Manager, International Marketing & Recruitment - Local is a member of the Langara Global team, responsible for recruiting international students currently based in Canada, particularly in British Columbia, the Metro Vancouver region, and Ontario.
The role entails developing marketing and recruitment strategies tailored to international students who are already in Canada, promoting Langara College programs, and building partnerships with local high schools, independent schools, and community organizations.
The scope of responsibilities includes executing a targeted International Student Marketing Plan, fostering local partnerships, and engaging in activities to ensure Langara College’s visibility within the local international education marketplace.
Travel within the province and occasionally across Canada is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as Business Administration with a major in marketing, Cross-cultural Studies, or International Education field.
- Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience in managing international student recruitment and marketing and strategic alliance development, including administrative and financial management.
International student recruitment within Canada and knowledge of BC, Ontario, and Alberta systems will be an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered..
- Excellent knowledge of the British Columbia education system.
- Written and oral fluency in a secondary language preferred
- Good knowledge of world geography, history, politics and current and local affairs.
- Experience in international education, particularly working in cross-cultural environment.
- Experience providing informational seminars to international students and partners.
- General knowledge of Canadian immigration policy and procedures as they relate to international students.
- Experience with issues related to cultural integration and intercultural communication.

Working Conditions :
There will be a requirement to travel within the Lower Mainland to attend various career fairs, secondary schools, or post-secondary institutions, or other student recruitment events.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required.
- Have no criminal record that would interfere with carrying out duties of the job.
- May occasionally work weekends and weeknights to attend functions, events, etc.
- The incumbent works primarily on campus in the International Education Department; to meet operating requirements and deadlines, vacation time will need to coincide with low service periods.
