Job Title : Corporate Accountant

Location : Waterloo, Ontario

Start Date : August, 2025

End Date : January, 2027 (18-month contract)

Rate : 40 CAD / hour

Work Schedule : Hybrid in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays; remote Mondays and Fridays

The Opportunity :

As a Corporate Accountant, you will be a key member of the corporate accounting team responsible for recording and analyzing employee-related expenses, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of account reconciliations. You'll also support integration projects and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare journal entries and accruals related to employee expenses

Analyze monthly and quarterly variances in payroll accounts

Prepare and maintain clear, accurate balance sheet account reconciliations

Provide detailed commentary for internal financial reports

Act as subject matter expert on integration project teams

Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of knowledge-sharing

Identify and implement process improvements

Support various special projects throughout the year

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or College degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)

4-8 years of accounting experience with solid US GAAP knowledge

Strong understanding of payroll processes is an asset

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office Suite

Experience with SAP is required

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and communication skills
