Job descriptionLocation : Calgary, Alberta The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Summer Student to join the Alberta Geological Survey (AGS). The AGS delivers geological and regulatory data, and the Regulatory Data Delivery team focuses on sharing this information with a wide range of stakeholders. As a Student, Report & Dissemination Analyst, you will manage confidential data, support information sharing, and work with senior staff to gather requirements. You will prepare AER data products using FME, SQL Studio, and Microsoft 365, with final outputs published through the AER Products & Services Catalogue. This role provides practical experience working with oil and gas data, with a focus on lifecycle processes and effective data management. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will develop technical data analysis skills as well as professional business conduct in an office environment. While the work supports the AER’s regulatory mandate, we also prioritize a culture of collaboration, personal wellness, professional development, and work–life balance. Work with IT teams to enhance cloud monitoring processes and prepare supporting documentation. Experience with .NET and Azure DevOps is an asset. Experience in software development and support is preferred. Should an individual with the required qualifications not be available, applicants with closely related qualifications may be considered.
