Sweeper Operator, Highway Maintenance

Ledcor Highway Maintenance is now hiring Sweeper operators with a safety-first mindset to support our highway maintenance team in the greater Edmonton area.

Conditions:

• As we respond to various weather patterns some shift work on-call and night shift will be required
• Start Date: April 13th - Spring/Summer Season runs April through October
• Travel shift work on call availability and night shift required during operating months
• Accommodations meal allowance and LOA provided for out of town work
• Work locations span provincial & municipal highways across Alberta

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate street sweepers wheel loader and other heavy and light equipment as required
• Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways including assisting with labour duties (crack sealing pothole repair bridge and signage cleaning hazard remediation etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasksincluding lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 drivers license with air endorsement
• Clear 3-year drivers abstract
• Previous experience operating a sweeper and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
