Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Technician to support the extraction of high-accuracy geospatial data from stereo imagery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in photogrammetry, aerial triangulation, and 3D feature extraction for applications such as topographic mapping, shoreline delineation, elevation modeling (DEMs), hydrographic surveys, and building footprint extraction.Key Responsibilities:
- Perform stereo compilation using aerial or satellite stereo imagery to extract 3D geospatial features.
- Conduct shoreline delineation with high precision in coastal and inland water environments.
- Generate and validate Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) and topographic datasets.
- Extract building footprints and other urban features from stereo imagery for use in mapping and infrastructure planning.
- Support hydrographic survey projects by compiling bathymetric and shoreline data.
- Apply aerial triangulation (AT) techniques to align and orient stereo imagery.
- Collaborate with GIS analysts, cartographers, and remote sensing teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain metadata and documentation for all compiled datasets.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in stereo compilation and photogrammetric mapping.
- Proficiency with photogrammetry software (e.g., SOCET GXP, DAT/EM Summit Evolution, Trimble Inpho, or similar).
- Strong understanding of geospatial data standards, coordinate systems, and map projections.
- Experience with shoreline and hydrographic data extraction and urban feature digitization.
- Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and DEM processing workflows.
- Experience working with LiDAR, multispectral, or SAR data.
- Knowledge of urban planning, coastal zone management, or marine spatial planning.
- Ability to interpret and digitize complex terrain, water, and built-up features in 3D environments.
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices.
