As a Controls Designer at Brave, you will work in a team to develop and design automation solutions for manufacturing processes in various industries.
Your responsibilities include:
- Prepare controls designs according to customer specifications and process requirements
- Creation of panel external and internal layouts and best practices
- Create template pages and standards for new designs
- Supervise the installation and build of equipment to ensure they align with design specifications
- Provide a BOM for Panel and field components
- Work with industry partners to determine hardware purchasing lead times
Must have:
- Post secondary diploma or degree in related field (equivalent experience will be considered)
- 5+ years of controls design experience using AutoCAD and/or EPLAN
- Familiarity with JIC and IEC layouts and symbols
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience designing with different Network Architectures (Ethernet/ProfiNET, IOLink, DeviceNET/Profibus etc.)
- Willing and able to travel to customer facilities (USA, Mexico, Canada)
- Willingness to work overtime if needed during installation and to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others
Nice to have:
- Experience with higher amperage cabinets >100A
- Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, water and/or lubrication circuits
- Experience in designing cable tray layouts and cell/machine cabling/grounding
- Familiarity in macros and scripts used to aid in automating design tasks – ie batch renaming text across a print set, purging a set, etc
