Our client is expanding and is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their project team. The Intermediate Electrical Engineer will oversee the electrical aspects of construction projects (commercial/Industrial), providing support and leadership to the commissioning team and ensuring designs meet high standards.
Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the commissioning team to review shop drawings.
- Support the project team by reviewing designs, shop drawings, technical documents, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate subtrade contracts and scope of work.
- Identify and address potential M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) design challenges.
- Provide design solutions to minimize change orders and project delays.
- Monitor project schedules and identify potential risks.
- Work alongside consultants and engineers to ensure alignment on project scope and timelines.
- Review and manage electrical change orders.
- Validate subcontractor and supplier progress claims.
- Participate in meetings with the project and commissioning teams.
- Prepare deficiency reports and verify successful resolution of issues.
- Conduct engineering risk assessments as required and provide recommendations.
- Maintain engineering documentation in compliance with industry standards.
- Perform site inspections to ensure installation compliance and support QA/QC procedures.
The Successful Candidate Has:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a valid P.Eng designation.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus and will be prioritized.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of industry regulatory standards.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics.
- Experience in design coordination and project management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven leadership abilities to mentor and guide Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
- A keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
