Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR) – a division of Lifemark

Employment Type: Part - Time hours

Location: Whitby - Durham Region, ON

Lifemark’s Home and Community Care division, Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR) is looking for a Registered Occupational Therapistto provide services to pediatric clients focusing on fine motor development. This is a grassroots opportunity as it allows for the successful applicant to participate in program development, creating tailored interventions that meet the needs of the pediatric community.

OT Responsibilities:

  • Provide private Occupational Therapy services to pediatric client’s in-person and/or virtually
  • Provide direct treatment and consultation, both individually and in small groups
  • Provide occupational therapy assessment to identify strengths, challenges, and therapeutic objectives
  • Plan, organize and implement occupational therapy sessions tailored to each child’s behavioral, sensory, developmental, and social needs
  • Assign care plan, and provide supervision and monitoring of occupational therapy assistants when appropriate
  • Effectively communicate information by providing education to client/caregivers
  • Complete and maintain current and accurate documentation related to assessment findings, care plans, progress and discharge summaries according to CAR, the referral source and COTO standards using EMR technology
  • Participate in program development and evaluation

Requirements:

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (required)
  • Experience working within a community setting is an asset but new graduates are welcome
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team
  • Ability to prioritize, manage self-scheduling and meet reporting deadlines
  • Excellent oral, written and report writing skills
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation is required for this position
