Thompson Construction Group has a current opening for a Project Manager, this role is based in Fort McMurray and requires a strong onsite presence to support active operations. Local candidates to Fort McMurray with knowledge of the region, workforce and operating environment are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project timeline and budget, to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner while meeting project requirements.
- Provide scheduling for estimates and projects.
- Organize daily operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers.
- Manage change orders including quoting and cost analysis pertaining to the changes in the project scope.
- Responsible for project reporting such as cost summaries, load count reports, daily LEM reporting, volume tracking and invoicing.
- Participation in weekly progress meetings.
- Participation in weekly supervisor and management meetings.
- Review daily foreman reports for coding.
- Job site visits with management and supervision.
- Assisting with budget estimates and quotes.
- Month end accrual reporting.
- Attend client meetings associated with pre-tender, post tender and project start-ups.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in earthworks construction and/or oil & gas projects.
- Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Superior computer skills and technical writing.
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Primavera Software.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule.
- CSO/BSO Certification.
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
