East to West Mining and Construction Solutions provides mechanical maintenance services to the mining industry in Canada, offering complementary services including parts distribution, inspections, advanced OCM diagnostics and roadside assistance.

The Heavy Equipment and Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our team at East to West Mining and Construction Solutions Inc. The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis (fly-in / fly- out") at mining, energy and construction sites across and in Northern Canada, including :

  • Fermont, Quebec
  • Nunavik (mine site)
  • Nunavik (Inuit community village)
  • Fermont (all mining sites, as well as other customers)
  • Baffinland, Nunavut
  • alberta
  • Shefferville, Quebec
  • Labrador City (IOC).

Projects and locations may vary from rotation to rotation, depending on business needs. Duties may include roadside assistance, mechanical work at one of our service centers, work at crushing sites, construction sites and other dynamic locations, including the following :

  • Diagnose and Repair Diesel Engine Problems
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, dump trucks, etc.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment braking, suspension and transmission systems
  • Use hand and power tools to make repairs
  • Perform preventive inspections and write detailed inspection reports
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and to a high level of quality
  • REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Heavy equipment mechanic or diesel engine mechanic certification completed, in progress or equivalent in experience
  • Experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and diesel engines
  • PREFERENCE

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals and technical specifications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a Nordic environment
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and in harsh weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license
