Role & Responsibilities :
The Senior Level Security and Emergency Preparedness Engineer performs a leadership role on the Plant Integration Team for the research and development phase for the new nuclear reactors within a team environment, working with partner organizations and suppliers to advance plant conceptual and detailed design and successfully deliver a new plants project. The PTAG Consultant will produce an economically superior design by employing a balance of cutting edge and proven technologies and will be responsible for development and implementation of licensing and technical requirements along with the associated work processes for advanced work in new nuclear plants.
- Demonstrates expertise in Security and Emergency Preparedness in support of new plant design and development. The role requires experience with development and implementation of security and emergency preparedness requirements and the ability to incorporate design features important to security considering current and future regulations. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within design, analyses, construction, and modularization of new plant design.
- Provide knowledge of integrated design processes pertaining to security and emergency preparedness.
- Establish processes and procedures for new plant design as related to Emergency Preparedness, Physical Security, and Major Event Mitigation (B.5.b, SAFER, FLEX).
- Lead team in the New Plant design to ensure development of Severe Accident Mitigation Guidelines (SAMG) and Emergency Action Levels that pertain to 10 CFR 50.54 (hh) (2) and 10 CFR 50.150.
The candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following :
Manage project work schedules and priorities.Work proactively with Engineering teams to develop 3D Model in Autodesk Tool suite (Revit)Work within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures.Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft products and Microsoft teams.Qualifications / Requirements :
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.At least 8 additional years of experience in a Security engineering capacity.Significant experience with nuclear power plant Emergency Preparedness.In-depth knowledge of plant systems, including Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C design bases and interfacing design requirements.In-depth knowledge of plant safety assessment framework using approaches to design and analysis according to structured defense-in-depth principles to solve problems related to power plant complexity, over-classification, and cost.
