Reporting to the Supervisor of Parks & Recreation Administration the Sponsorship Coordinator will be responsible for the development, administration and implementation of a robust advertising and sponsorship program for the Parks & Recreation department. This role is accountable for service delivery, budget management, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with relevant legislative and safety standards.
The successful applicant is an individual who is well organized and detail oriented, with excellent communication skills. Previous work experience in sales, with an emphasis on revenue generation and naming rights, is required. The chosen individual for this role will be a motivated, energetic and passionate individual, with strong interpersonal relationship skills, who is also capable of acting with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy.
Duties and Responsibilities :
This position will work to develop, secure and maintain advertising, sponsorships, partnerships and other funding opportunities that support the programs, events, facilities and initiatives of the Parks and Recreation Department, while providing assistance to other departments as requested. This includes the development of sponsorship packages, proposals, agreements and presentations tailored to potential partners.
The incumbent will negotiate sponsorship terms and agreements in alignment with departmental polices and goals. Working in partnership with the City s Legal department, the incumbent will execute these agreements in a timely manner for the installation of advertisements as necessary.
They will provide oversight and administration to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre website and webpage related to Advertising and Sponsorships on behalf of Parks & Recreation working in cooperation with the Communications department.
The Parks and Recreation Sponsorship Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and evaluating sponsorship outcomes to ensure sponsor satisfaction and retention, while establishing revenue targets and opportunities for program enhancements.
This position will also assist in the development of Operational and Capital budgets, creating yearly reports outlining overall program status and deliverables.
