We are seeking a passionate, empathetic, and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team in providing support, guidance, and mentorship to young individuals in the community. Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to youth, fostering a safe and empowering environment.
  • Assist with life skills development, goal-setting, and building resilience.
  • Offer guidance on emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, working to strengthen self-esteem and confidence.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and programs that promote personal growth, positive decision-making, and healthy relationships.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other community partners to create a holistic support system for youth.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth under your care.
  • Advocate for youth in a manner that respects their individuality, cultural background, and personal experiences.

Key Requirements :

  • Cultural Competence : A strong understanding and respect for the diverse backgrounds and needs of the youth you support.
  • Indigenous Knowledge : Knowledge and sensitivity to Indigenous cultures, values, and community practices, and the ability to integrate this understanding into support plans.
  • Youth-Centered Approach : Strong commitment to using a youth-centered approach that empowers and respects each individual’s voice and perspective.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth, including those facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, is an asset.
  • A relevant post-secondary degree or diploma in social work, youth care, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
