Accounts Payable Clerk

The starting (or hiring) salary for this position is $43,650 to $46,075, with the opportunity to move through the full salary range as you advance in your role. Annual salary increases are determined by performance and contributions to the organization. The Accounts Payable Clerk at Perimeter is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment transactions. This role ensures precise processing of accounts payable transactions while adhering to organizational policies and financial controls.

Summary of Position Duties: (What you'll do)

• Processes vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment data into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy of data
• Reconciles invoices with purchase orders and receipts, ensuring accurate coding, complete supporting documentation, and proper authorization
• Processes reimbursement requests and ensure compliance with Perimeter policies and procedures.
• Prepares and processes bi-weekly cheque runs including EFT, ACH, IMT and wire transfers
• Reconciles vendor statements, promptly resolves discrepancies, and responds to vendor inquiries by collaborating with internal departments to address payment issues
• Assists with month-end closing tasks related to accounts payable
• Supports audits by providing documentation and data as requested
• Contributes to process improvements and upholds internal control standards
• Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and organizational priorities

Summary of Required Qualifications: (What You Bring)

• Completed post secondary education in accounting, related field or equivalent working experience
• 1- 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
• Understanding of applicable tax regulations
• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and transaction workflows
• Strong analytical skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel
• Demonstrates professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
