Payroll Administrator

We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee payroll functions for a high-volume, unionized environment within the real estate sector. Your expertise in managing full-cycle payroll operations and ensuring compliance with policies will be essential to the success of this position.

Responsibilities :

• Manage and execute full-cycle payroll processing for over 2,500 employees across multiple provinces.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll transactions, including journal entries, remittances, and reconciliations.
• Oversee payroll operations in a unionized environment, maintaining compliance with labour agreements.
• Utilize advanced payroll software systems like ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian for efficient processing.
• Generate and analyze payroll reports using Crystal Reports to support decision-making.
• Administer employee benefits programs such as RRSP contributions and 401k plans.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a team of three payroll specialists.
• Address payroll-related inquiries and deliver exceptional customer service to employees.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
• Minimum of 5 years of Canadian payroll experience in the real estate or a similar high-volume industry.
• Proven expertise in handling payroll for unionized environments and multi-province operations.
• Proficiency with payroll software systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Crystal Reports.
• Strong understanding of benefit administration, including RRSP and 401k plans.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing complex payroll functions.
• Solid leadership abilities with experience managing a small team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills to address employee needs effectively.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and payroll-related auditing processes.
