Position Description
Surrey Place is seeking a Social Worker. The successful applicant will report to the Manager of the Mashkikiiwininiwag Mazinnaatesijigan Wichiiwewin (MMW) Videoconferencing Program. The MMW Program provides clinical support services to individuals aged 18 years and over. These individuals may have or are suspected of having an intellectual and developmental disability living in Northwestern Ontario. Direct service, consultation and training are provided to individuals and their caregivers using video conferencing technology.
There will be occasional work with the Services for Partners and Organizations (SPO) team. The SPO team offers a unique chance to engage with various community partners to fill service gaps within their organization, particularly through our Northern Ontario initiatives. Traveling to the north as part of our clinical teams allows the Social Worker to connect with diverse communities and make a significant impact.
This position will be responsible for providing a range of clinical and indirect services to adults with intellectual developmental disabilities. The position will also be responsible for providing social work consultation on interdisciplinary teams in a professional and competent manner. The role may also include consultation, workshops, education and resource support to clients, families and their caregivers. Additionally, support is provided to professionals and various organizations, including schools, long-term care facilities, hospitals, and community accommodation programs in both the developmental and the mental health sector. This position will be supporting adults 18 years or older with additional support needs who live in Northwestern Ontario. Clinical Services are provided primarily using telemedicine technology.
