StartupFuel is seeking an experienced Venture Partner to cover the Canadian market for a multinational CVC. This role serves as the CVC’s eyes and ears on the ground, combining strategic deal sourcing, portfolio management, and ecosystem development to advance the organization’s corporate venture objectives.
As the Venture Partner, you will act as an extension of the CVC’s investment team through StartupFuel’s Venture Partner as a Service model, powered by DiligenceGPT™. You will actively scout and evaluate early-stage and growth-stage startups, identifying opportunities aligned with the Corporate’s strategic priorities. This includes monitoring accelerator demo days, engaging with founder communities, attending venture and technology events, and conducting direct founder outreach to surface high-potential investment opportunities. Your insights and evaluations will directly inform the CVC’s investment decisions.
You will leverage DiligenceGPT™, StartupFuel’s AI-powered due diligence tool, to streamline evaluations and deliver comprehensive insights that inform investment decisions. By reducing manual research and accelerating diligence workflows, DiligenceGPT™ enables you to focus on strategic analysis, opportunity prioritization, and higher-quality investment recommendations.
Beyond sourcing, you will support portfolio companies post-investment by maintaining regular touchpoints, tracking performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and helping founders access strategic resources, including customers, partners, talent, and follow-on capital. You will also help ensure alignment with the CVC’s post-investment expectations and reporting cadence.
The role includes a strong ecosystem and brand-building mandate. You will represent the Corporate within local and global innovation ecosystems, building relationships with founders, investors, accelerators, corporates, academic institutions, and government stakeholders. When the CVC team members visit key markets, you will curate and manage on-the-ground agendas, including meetings, site visits, workshops, and private gatherings, to maximize the strategic value of each visit.
