About CSL
CSL Australia (“CSLA”) was established in 1999 and is the largest owner of and operator of dry bulk coastal vessels operating in Australian waters. CSLA is the major supplier of shipping services to the construction and building industries. CSLA is a division of The CSL Group Inc. (“CSL”) which operates a highly diversified fleet of specialised self-unloading vessels, off-shore transhippers and Handysize bulk carriers. CSL delivers millions of tons of cargo to industrial customers annually.

About the position
CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Chief Officer to join our transhipment operations in Western Australia. Reporting to the Master, the Chief Officer is the head of the Deck Department.
In addition, the Chief Officer will be responsible for:
Designated safety officer;
The safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations;
Providing guidance and support to the Deck Officers including Deck Cadets;
Having comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and throughout the accommodation;
Assuming Masters responsibilities and command of the vessel in the absence of the Master.
Basic Requirements
AMSA Chief Officer COC/COR Unlimited (required)
Education Requirement: As per AMSA Marine Order 71 (mandatory)
Technical Requirement: minimum 5 years sea time as a Watchkeeper Deck (mandatory)
STCW regulation II/2
MSIC Card (required)
Australian Citizen or hold a valid Australian working visa without working restrictions
Living in an Australian state (required)
Be able to wear a respirator while on deck
