Position Description
The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setup, operation, and forming functions that directly support production goals in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment. This role calls for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and craftsmanship.
- Organize daily forming tasks and review production schedules to keep projects on track.
- Select and set up the proper tooling for each job, ensuring accurate installations and smooth workflow.
- Perform hands-on forming operations while verifying accuracy through first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks.
- Track and log work activities in the company’s production system, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Keep brake press machinery and work areas well-maintained, following preventative maintenance guidelines and safety-first practices.
- Take part in process and product improvements, contributing ideas and feedback to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support other duties within the department as required, depending on skill set and operational needs.

Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of metal forming and fabrication techniques, along with an understanding of production workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions with accuracy.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic press operations.
- Competence in using precision measurement tools for dimensional checks.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal technical training or at least 5 years of direct experience in brake press operations.
