Trailer Mechanic

Our client, a leading organization in the transportation and logistics industry, is seeking a Trailer Mechanic to join their team. As a Trailer Mechanic, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting the fleet of trailers and equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Trailer Mechanic

Location: Mississauga, ON

Pay Range: $40 - $45 per hour

Shift: Morning Shift

What's the Job?

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on all trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct all levels of preventive maintenance functions, including trailer repairs and equipment inspections.
• Perform electrical diagnostics, repairs, and replacements as needed.
• Utilize the company’s maintenance system to create, maintain, and complete work orders and vehicle maintenance records.
• Lead and assist with parts purchasing, inventory management, receiving, and proper charge out of parts to work orders.

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in fleet trailer maintenance and repair (up to 2 years can be credited for technical training/schooling).
• Knowledge and understanding of FMCSRs and DOT Compliance.
• Air brake certification.
• Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers.
• Ability to provide all necessary hand tools (1/2” drive or under) for maintenance tasks.
