About the role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled manager with a strong background in Information Technology and Data Center Operations with the ability to manage multiple teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will manage teams that support critical functions including the installation and support of data center and server room equipment, IT disaster recovery coordination, and IT systems monitoring, alert management and resolution.

This role is an important position that requires a hands-on approach, strategic thinking, and a strong desire to ensure the success of our teams and company. If you have a passion for technology and leading teams, we would like to meet you.

Please note that this position requires you to be in the office three days a week, including at least two days at our St-Hyacinthe office .

What you’ll do here :

  • Direct Management : Lead the data center program in alignment with business needs and IT infrastructure strategy.Oversee the day-to-day operations of three teams, ensuring that they are functioning effectively and meeting the company's operational and strategic goals.Develop and maintain project plans, set deadlines, estimate resource requirements, organize, and allocate talent.
  • Technical Leadership : Lead the team responsible for installing, managing, and supporting equipment in our data centers and server rooms.Ensure that our data centers are optimized, energy efficient, and are highly available.Lead our disaster recovery practice and evolve the program to support the IT infrastructure strategy.Lead our 24 / 7 IT Operations Center team, ensuring the effective and efficient monitoring, triage and resolution of events detected on systems under the team's care.
  • HR Management : Manage all aspects of human resources for the team members you serve, including recruitment, performance management, training, coaching, and talent development.
  • Financial Management : Contribute to the creation and management of your teams' budgets, ensuring that all financial metrics are met.Monitor and control project costs to ensure that they are completed within the allocated budget.
  • Escalation Point : Act as the primary escalation point for any challenges that arise within your area of responsibility.Support the 24 / 7 IT Operations Center and Incident Response teams during incidents that affect the systems in your care.

What you bring to the table :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in Data Center Operations, IT Operations, or similar leadership role.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware / software systems.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of human resource management principles.
  • Experience with budget and business operations management.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Bilingual (French and English) : Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
