About the Job
We are hiring a Project Coordinator - Design (Civil) to step into a new role in our Technical Office team on the Mobilinx project. This position reports to the Senior Technical Manager.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Support in managing technical delivery for civil technical packages.
- Maintain a regular on-site presence to identify technical issues early and drive resolution prior to formal RFIs.
- Participate in field walks, coordination meetings, and technical workshops with construction teams.
- Review civil design submissions and IFC packages for constructability, sequencing, and compliance with project requirements.
- Track and close CRR comments for assigned packages.
- Prepare high-quality RFIs with complete technical background, sketches, and proposed solutions.
- Track RFIs, SIs, and NCRs to closure and proactively follow up on overdue responses.
- Coordinate directly with Engineers of Record and design consultants to resolve technical issues.
- Support investigations and preparation of technical evidence for NCR close-out.
- Ensure Site Instructions and design changes are clearly communicated to construction teams.
- Work closely with Systems, Utilities, Survey, CAD, Quality, and Construction teams to resolve multidisciplinary issues.
- Facilitate in-person coordination sessions to progress technical resolutions.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Technical Manager with recommended solutions, schedule impacts, and risk assessments.
- Support technical review of shop drawings, material data sheets, and construction submissions.
- Ensure submissions are complete, coordinated, and aligned with project specifications prior to issuance.
- Work with Document Control to ensure workflows are followed and documentation is accurate.
- Promote a strong safety culture in all technical activities.
- Support Quality teams in addressing NCRs and audit findings.
- Participate in lessons-learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to improving technical processes, trackers, and coordination methods.
What We Are Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 5–7 years of experience in major infrastructure, rail/transit, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Experience supporting construction through design coordination is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with RFI, NCR, SI, and IFC review processes.
- Knowledge of Ontario codes, Municipal standards, and public-sector infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Collaborative approach in multidisciplinary environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent MS Excel, MS Word and Bluebeam skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Document Management tools such as Procore and being able to easily navigate the different tools within the platform.
- Strong ownership mentality and accountability for results.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working on site and engaging directly with construction teams.
- Ability to escalate issues early with proposed solutions.
- Delivery-focused and comfortable working in fast-paced project settings.
Expected Compensation
Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $80,000.00 CAD - $100,000.00 CAD. The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependant on the specific project to which you are assigned.
