Emergency Physician - Antigonish

St. Martha's Regional Hosptial (SMRH), Antigonish, is seeking full-time emergency medicine physicians to join their team. Classified as a Level 2 ED it is a stimulating opportunity for ED specialists as well as FM+ trained ED physicians. The physician and nursing teams are highly qualified and incredibly supportive. There is opportunity to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University, as well as local simulation-based opportunities. SMRH is approximately two hours from the province's Level 1 trauma centres (life flight available), and the tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support. St. Martha's Regional Hospital is approximately a 90 bed facility (8-bed ED) with more than 60 physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties and sub-specialties. This facility serves a population of nearly 60, from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities.

Community based care is further supported by a men's and women's health centre, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, walk-in clinic, and youth clinic at the local high school. Physicians and all staff at St. Martha's Regional Hospital take great pride in providing high-quality care to patients and value collegiality in the work place. Also, St. Martha's Regional Hospital has the most active cross-specialty, accredited Continuing Medical Education (CME) program in the province.
