Who we're looking for :
The Intake and Demand Portfolio Analyst is responsible for managing the front end of the project lifecycle and aligning demand with strategic priorities and delivery capacity. This role ensures that new requests are evaluated, prioritized, and integrated into the broader portfolio with a clear understanding of resource availability and business value. We are open to hire for our Calgary or Greater Toronto Area Location.
What you'll do :
Intake Management & Evaluation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new project and initiative requests entering the PCO intake funnel.
- Evaluate submissions for completeness, strategic alignment, and readiness for prioritization.
- Maintain intake records in the PCO Kanban system, ensuring transparency and traceability.
- Collaborate with requestors to clarify business needs and gather supporting documentation.
Demand Planning & Prioritization
Analyze incoming demand against available capacity, funding, and strategic objectives.Facilitate prioritization forums and support decision-making by providing data-driven insights.Partner with Finance, Architecture, and Delivery teams to ensure demand is feasible and aligned with enterprise goals.Track and report on demand trends, bottlenecks, and emerging needs across business units.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders across departments.Act as a liaison between business units and the PCO team, ensuring consistent engagement and communication.Lead intake and demand discussions, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of priorities.Portfolio Analysis & Reporting
Support portfolio balancing by analyzing intake volume, demand forecasts, and delivery capacity.Generate reports and dashboards that inform leadership on portfolio health, risks, and opportunities.Provide insights to support mid-year and annual planning cycles.Process Improvement & Enablement
Continuously refine intake and demand management processes to improve efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.Contribute to the development of training materials and communication strategies.Support the adoption of intake and demand tools and templates across the organization.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with other Portfolio Analysts, Project Managers, and Architecture teams to ensure smooth handoffs from intake to delivery.What you bring :
2–3 years of experience in portfolio management, business analysis, or project intake / demand planning roles.Experience working in a Portfolio and Communications Office (PCO) or similar governance structure is preferred.Technical Skills
Proficiency in portfolio management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, or similar).Strong understanding of intake-to-delivery workflows and demand management frameworks.Ability to analyze and interpret data to support prioritization and planning decisions.Familiarity with financial planning, capacity modeling, and resource forecasting.Analytical & Communication Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.Ability to translate complex business needs into structured intake and demand documentation.Collaboration & Leadership
Proven ability to build relationships and influence across cross-functional teams.Comfortable facilitating meetings, prioritization forums, and stakeholder discussions.Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Other Attributes
