Job Summary:

The Software Developer will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and supporting complex integration components and applications within the public healthcare sector. This role involves full-stack development, API management, performance tuning, and ensuring secure data integration for digital health immunization assets. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Java-based technologies, database management, and system architecture, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical application upgrades and sustainment.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and develop integration components and code between various healthcare systems.
- Provide technical support for incident management, application sustainment, API management, and performance tuning.
- Develop secure integration components for digital health assets and third-party consumer applications.
- Support application migrations to on-premise containerized environments.
- Validate data submissions and resolve API issues to ensure accurate information updates.
- Implement new features, enhancements, and conduct performance tuning for high-volume data processing.
- Design data-driven logic and conduct unit testing for integration hubs and common APIs.
- Translate technical specifications into working, tested application code and prepare detailed programming documentation.
- Provide impact analysis, effort estimation, and solution design for software upgrades and new requirements.
- Maintain development environments and adopt Continuous Integration practices.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Solutions Designers to design, code, test, debug, and document integration services.
- Modify underlying components to conform to vendor upgrade releases and changing business requirements.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- 10+ years of experience in Java programming, Java EE, and frameworks including Spring and Hibernate.
- 10+ years of experience with UI frameworks and front-end development including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, jQuery, JSF, and PrimeFaces.
- Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, Postgres, JSON, XML, ETL, and database performance tuning.
- Proficiency in RESTful web services, Node.js, Nginx, OAuth2, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
- Experience with API testing and management tools such as Postman and SOAPUI.
- Working knowledge of version control systems like SVN or GitLab and issue tracking tools like Jira.
- Experience with Informatica and the Elastic/Logstash/Kibana stack.
- Familiarity with healthcare messaging protocols including HL7-FHIR and clinical IT systems integration.
- Experience developing accessible UI components compliant with W3C/WCAG standards.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture practices.
- Previous experience working with public-sector healthcare providers.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS), Docker, Kubernetes, and API Gateways.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with enterprise integration gateway applications.
- Familiarity with Prolog, Haskell, LISP, and cloud technologies.

Special Considerations:

- This position requires strict onsite attendance at the identified office location.
- Contract extensions are strictly limited to unused contract days or remaining contract funds.
